The Children’s Discovery Path is a 3/8 mile long nature hiking path with five discovery stations where a child can stop and learn about animals, birds, and insects that are native to southwest Florida.
Along this path, there are five interactive stations: Birds of Prey, Bats, the Gopher Tortoise, Spiders, and the Florida Panther. Each station has a fun, hands-on activity where path explorers can jump, climb, see, and feel what it is like to be one of these creatures.
On the guided tour, a staff member will talk about the native flora and fauna of Florida and the need to preserve and protect our natural resources.
Minimum number of students for staff led programs is 20. 1 adult (teachers or chaperones) per 5 students for program participation are included at no additional fees. This program is available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays only. Please check our online calendar for available dates.
Program starts at 10 am and goes to 11:30 am. Picnic tables are available for bagged lunches.
COSTS: $10 per student
REMINDERS: Dress comfortably and wear appropriate clothing (closed-toed shoes and hats, etc.). Natural bug repellant and sunscreen available for purchase in shop. Refillable water bottles are ideal, water cooler on site.
