Annual Fundraising Event Focused on Education and Florida History

Sarasota, Fl— 2019 Southwest Florida Heritage Festival — Today Crowley Museum and Nature Center announced upcoming date for this year’s 2019 Southwest Florida Heritage Festival, ” On February 23rd from 10 am – 6 pm we will be celebrating the agricultural history of Southwest Florida and the pioneers that preceded us”.

“This one of a kind event will focus on history and education. We will offer a number of homesteading skills workshops and demonstrations. There will be a number of activities for the kids as well. Admission is $20 per carload (carpooling encouraged) and $10 per motorcycle

Positive Community Impact

Many local residents have already attended the 2018 Southwest Florida Heritage Festival event in the past, again we are focusing on giving the attendees an experience, bringing them into the past and giving them an introduction to skills they can use in the future. Crowley Museum and Nature Center, a 501(3) C Non Profit Organization, recently committed to expanding the annual 2018 Southwest Florida Heritage Festival to provide a fun venue to re-connect visitors with the past as well as to promote their upcoming Folk School Classes. 2019 Southwest Florida Heritage Festival will enable Crowley Museum and Nature Center to continue to educate the community, school groups about the importance of agriculture, conservation and history.

Crowley Museum and Nature Center is a farmstead established in 1878 expanded to include 191-acres. Site includes rare Florida habitat, pioneer buildings, and heritage farm animals. For 40 years Crowley has provided children’s programming that explores pioneer history, develops self-reliance, creates a connection to nature, and imparts practical skills for living like wilderness survival and farming in a real world setting.
