Description of class: Fill your pantry with the comforting traditions of home canning in this beginner-friendly class centered on simple living and old-fashioned homemaking skills. You’ll learn the basics of safe canning methods, preserving jams and other homemade staples to nourish your family year-round. We will be preparing and canning a seasonal relish.  From the gentle simmer of the kitchen to the satisfying pop of sealed jars this class offers a warm and encouraging space to slow down work with intention and rediscover the timeless joy of providing from your own hands. Fresh, locally baked goods and beverages are available for purchase after class.

Time: 10:00 -12:00 am Crowley Museum and Nature Center opens at 10:00 am

Cost of class: $50 for this class.  All supplies included: 16 oz jar, vegetables, pickling spices, vinegar, sugar.  Please use this Zelle QR code to pay and reserve your spot.  Due to limited internet access at CMNC, no cash or Zele QR payments will be made on the day of class. Cost of class includes admission to Crowley Museum and Nature Center for the day.
